Since 2017, Public Utilities Fortnightly has dedicated a fall issue of the magazine to the increasing pace of innovation at utilities and how this benefits our industry and ultimately customers. Utilities nominated each year more than a hundred individuals and teams that brought breakthroughs to market, in new transmission technologies, drones, microgrids, gas leak detection, customer tools, wildfire mitigation, undergrounding methods, and on and on.

The Utility Broadband Alliance (UBBA) is a collaboration of utilities and ecosystem partners dedicated to championing the advancement and development of private broadband networks for America’s critical infrastructure industries. The focus will be on the end-to-end private LTE/5G network offering which will include the radio and core aspects, and how these are being addressed.  Opportunities with various industry segments – manufacturing, transport, utilities and other verticals with 5G SA or LTE offering, what are the challenges being faced working with customers, partnering with CSPs, business models being pursued, the role of edge computing and so on.
