Anterix and NREL’s study on Private LTE Communications was featured in the Energy Systems Integration Facility’s (ESIF’S) 2019 book documenting their Grid Modernization Initiative. From the onset, the study was designated a High-Impact project, identifying the work as pushing the boundaries of conventional thinking and developing scalable technologies across the utility industry. The study sought to prove out how PLTE might solve for evolving communications needs, like the communications dependent advanced distribution management systems (ADMS). Additional phases of the study are underway, applying PLTE Technology to other secure, cost effective, and resilient grid operations.
